The princess does not want to be married to just anyone so she creates a complicated math riddle. Only the person who can solve the riddle can marry her. She travels to many towns and no one can solve the problem. Your students will love trying to solve the riddle and predicting who the princess will marry.
Students will be able to describe the characters of the story by using a Character Map.
I used this book as an introduction for our lesson on the identity property of multiplication. This book can be used to introduce several math topics like fractions and place value.
